Biography:

Richard Whitaker practices in the areas of real estate, transportation law, and corporate and business.

Richard has extensive real estate experience, which is essential in his management of the Lexington office’s Real Estate Department. The real estate practice handles closings for residential, agricultural and commercial loans. His experience also includes mineral title work and review of coal, gas and other property issues.

Richard has also worked in private industry, having more than 30 years’ experience in the transportation industry, and more than 15 years’ experience as a practicing transportation attorney. In this practice, Richard has dealt with complex issues of the transportation industry, including vehicle leasing contracts, owner-operator issues, tax audits, company personnel policy manuals, transportation-related litigation, various labor, employment and business issues.

Due to his extensive background and experience in private industry, Richard is uniquely qualified to understand and assist in the structure and formation of business entities and also able to consult as to possible issues and restructuring needs of existing businesses.
